August 2024

August 5 — Version 5.58
New
  • Foleon Analytics additional data insight capabilities  — Users now have even more ways to gain insights with Foleon Analytics! You can explore all the traffic for your entire workspace or just a single project. Plus, you can filter by source and dive deep into the Doc, project, or source level.
Bug fixes
  • Scale customers have unlimited user seats of the type ‘Free’ while they should only have a max of 20 instead. That's solved!
  • LinkedIn social share button redirects to the unknown website instead of the Doc. No more!
  • Text changes are not registered when clicking on personalize. We've sorted it!

July 2024

July 22 — Version 5.57
New
  • Personalize your Doc using contact properties  — You can personalize text properties in a single Doc one-by-one — based on contact properties (eg. first name, last name, company name).
  • New Personalizer role  — This new user role helps customers further scale personalized content creation. Empower sales reps or marketers to personalize content without giving them editing rights.
  • Personalize Docs with page conditions  — This feature allows users to create content variations by tailoring pages to audiences based on an industry type or another condition from a master Doc. This is useful to tailor relevant content, such as a product line or service, to multiple segments simultaneously.
  • Personalize in batches — CSV  — We’re making it possible to personalize Foleon Docs in batches, by uploading a CSV file that matches your personalization properties. This allows you to generate a list of personalized Docs for hundreds of contacts in just a few minutes.
  • Personalization native analytics  — You can see the number of page visits and how long a visitor spent in their personalized Doc. That's available in the Foleon reporting dashboard.
Bug fixes
  • The page Doc Settings is available to use for Doc Templates but shouldn't be. We solved that.
  • User does not see fallback image when image is removed from media library. Fixed.
  • Review Mode - When opening a link to a resolved comment, the Review Mode does not highlight and navigate to that comment. No more!
July 8 — Version 5.56
Beta
  • Personalize Docs with page conditions  — New in Beta — This feature allows users to create content variations by tailoring pages to audiences based on an industry type or another condition from a master Doc. This is useful to tailor relevant content, such as a product line or service, to multiple segments simultaneously.

Improved
  • Miscellaneous accessibility improvements  — We have reduced the scrolling speed for the navigation bar. This ensures that, even at the fastest scrolling pace (when hovering over the far left or right edges of the navigation bar), pages remain readable. We also added an aria-label to hotspot elements to ensure that the reader software can accurately indicate where the reader is currently focusing. This improvement ensures readers with disabilities have clear navigation cues, enhancing both accessibility and overall user experience.
  • Auto-saving feature removed from both GDS page and Doc settings page and replaced by Save button per page  — We have now added a save button on both the Doc Settings and Global Doc Settings (GDSs) pages. This change addresses inconsistencies observed during the Beta test period when the auto-save and manual save buttons didn't work well together. Auto-save functionality also didn't match the GTM and Remarketing fields
Bug fixes
  • Styling selected text with RTE does not apply to earlier styled text (scenario with multiple paragraphs). We solved that.
  • When selecting text and releasing your mouse button outside of the text into another text element deselects your selection. Fixed.
  • When opening a link to a resolved comment, the Review Mode does not highlight and navigate to that comment. That's solved!

June 2024

June 24 — Version 5.55
Improved
  • Default value for Editions from enabled to disabled — The Editions option in the Doc settings was enabled by default for new Foleon Docs.
Because the feature governs the visibility of all published Docs in the project, this was a security vulnerability.
This setting is now disabled by default for new Foleon Docs.
Beta
  • Personalize in batches (CSV)  — Open for beta testing — This feature allows users to create content variations by
tailoring pages to audiences based on an industry type or another condition from a master Doc. This is useful to tailor relevant content,
such as a product line or service, to multiple segments simultaneously.
Bug fixes (we squashed more bugs. Read the release notes if you’re hungry for more)
  • The counter for Foleon Docs inside the project showed an incorrect number if none of its Docs were published. Fixed.
  • Allowlist by email: the save button stayed disabled after deleting/removing an email address. We’ve sorted it.

May 2024

May 13 — Version 5.52
New
  • Set Global Doc settings that apply to any new Doc  — All current plans — By configuring Global Doc settings, you set default values for a bundle of Doc settings from one central location. Every new Foleon Doc starts with these settings. Read more in our Help Center.
  • Lock Doc settings — Enterprise customers — With lock Doc Settings, we empower content creators to lock one or more Global Doc settings from one central location. When locked, other team members can’t change these values in the Doc settings. Read more in our Help Center.
  • Hide a page for your audience — All current plans + agency — All pages are visible to your audience by default, but you can decide to hide a page. This might be useful when you’re still finetuning a page but are ready to set live changes to other pages. Read more in our Help Center.
Changed
  • Doc settings when creating a new Foleon Doc  —We’ve taken the moment of introducing Global Doc settings as an opportunity to introduce improvements to the default values of Doc settings when creating new Docs. For example, duplicating a Doc gives you the exact same settings (as you would expect). Check the release notes for all of the details.
Bug fixes (we squashed lots of bugs. Read the release notes if you’re hungry for more)
  • The remarketing and GTM fields auto-saved on every keystroke, which was too aggressive. They calmed down now.
  • Commas or periods in the data elements’ value field were not replaced when converting to PDF. This has been fixed.
  • Gradient background on a column didn’t show behind a column PNG background. We’ve sorted it.

April 2024

April 29 — Version 5.51
Bug fixes (we squashed lots of bugs. Read the release notes if you’re hungry for more)
  • When changing text style, it only applied to the text that was not styled earlier. For example, if you styled part of the paragraph text in red, then selected all text and changed to green, the text styled in red stayed that way. This is now fixed.
  • You couldn’t add a new (SSO) user again after being deleted from the Foleon dashboard. Fixed.
  • Older video elements scaled differently from newer video elements. No more!

Improved
  • Refreshed default styling of data elements — The Counter, Progress Bar, Circle, and Table default settings just got a new look. We’ve given them a fresh paint job, so even when you don’t have a Brand Kit or brand settings style applied, they still look great by default.
  • Choose a different version of your Bynder image — The Bynder interface has received a functional change: you can now choose an alternative version of the original image. E.g., change the resolution to thumbnail dimensions. Check out the release notes for more information.
Bug fixes (we squashed lots of bugs. Read the release notes if you’re hungry for more)
  • Going into the element settings wasn’t possible when the element wasn’t wide enough. Fixed.
  • The modal with a generated Doc URL was hidden under an opened overlay in Personalization Mode. No more!

  • Set a page background — Setting a page background allows you to decide on a background color on a page level — instead of having to configure it for each block individually.

Updates to existing features

    • We’ve optimized the way readers can tab through publications, it will now always start with the navigation bar and continue with the content of the page — from the top left to the bottom right.
  • Optimizations for screen readers
    • Hotspots now provide more information to screen readers about what they are and what they do.
    • Forms now provide more context about form fields and what’s supposed to be entered in each field.
  • Color contrasting improvements
    • We improved the default colors for the access control pages username & password and whitelist by email.
    • We improved the default color of the email icon in the social share element.

November 2019

Here’s what's new in this release.

Updates to existing features

  • Better Google Analytics events for lead generation
We’ve improved Google Analytics events for lead generation forms:

    • Instead of regular forms and lead generation forms having the same event category, we’ve now separated these into 2 event categories: Forms and Lead Forms to make it easier for you to separate them in your Analytics.
    • We’ve added a new event action called Show for lead generation forms, this tells you how many readers saw it. Cross reference this with the Submit success event action to calculate the drop-off rate of your lead generation form.
    • We’ve also added a new event action called Skip, this tells you how many readers skipped your lead generation form (if you’ve enabled this option).

These changes don't apply retrospectively, you'll need to republish your publications to start tracking this. Read more about using Foleon and Google Analytics together in our Help Center.
  • Improved order for social follow icons in the navigation bar
We’ve reordered the social follow icons in the navigation to make it more logical.
  • Improved responsiveness for access control pages
We've improved how access control pages like username & password and whitelist by email address look on smaller devices.

Fixes

  • We fixed a bug that caused the sound icon for background videos to display incorrectly in the navigation bar of publications when switching between pages.
  • We resolved an issue that prevented users from accessing publications that were created in the old editor through the new dashboard.
  • We squashed a bug that caused buttons that were linked externally to no longer function in the preview version of publications.
